A Fond Farewell To Righteous Hillbillies Drummer Kenny After 3 years of Thunder and Travellin that Rock n Roll Highway, The Righteous Hillbillies are saying goodbye to our drummer Kenny Gerk! Kenny has been a good friend and a great drummer and our goodbyes are bittersweet.
As you know Kenny is a school teacher and now he has some great opportunities to advance and provide even more for his family! Many bands lose one of their musicians and usually part in bitterness and anger... but not the case here.. Kenny remains a true friend of the Righteous Hillbillies and we wish him great success and happiness!
First of all the Righteous Hillbillies would like to wish all our friends and fans a Happy New Year! We hope the new year of 2011 brings y'all much happiness and success.
It was a very busy year in 2010 for the Hillbillies, and we kicked it off on January 2 at the Rockbox in Chicago with our friends John Condron and the Benefit. The Rockbox was a wild little joint with décor that was a combination of Burlesque and Soft Core, TVs in every corner playing old 50’s film clips and burlesque dancers. Brent and I took our cases and coats downstairs to a little dark dungeon with eye hooks on the ceiling, had a couple of great laughs and then got the hell back upstairs where we proceeded to tear the hell outta the stage…musically speaking of course! Inspiration comes from many different sources.
