"Barret Harvey began his percussive journey at age 10 in Joliet, IL. His first drumming hero: “The Muppet Show” house band’s mercurial timekeeper, Animal. He later would refine his musical tastes, studying the techniques of Buddy Rich, Mick Fleetwood, Stewart Copeland, Mitch Mitchell and Steve Gadd.
Over the years Barret has added his distinctive drumming to countless commercial recordings, including ones for Disney, Ford, Nintendo, Coors, Budweiser, Gatorade, and NASCAR, and he has traveled the globe as a sought-after live performer. Besides hard work and determination, Barret attributes much of his unique sound to Yamaha.
“If I didn’t play Yamaha Drums,” says Barret, “I’d probably play French horn. My [Yamaha] drums are packed, loaded, and shipped as hard as I play them. They always look, sound, and feel the best.” He has had the privilege of being a Yamaha endorsed artist since 1997.
